a childhood dream comes true: We're going on an adventure! a trans-Atlantic adventure..

Last year, Malou met Dutch entrepreneur Huib Koel. This flamboyant man decided to buy a ship and turn it into a cargo sailing vessel to pick up and transport coffee beans for one of his ventures called Kaap Koffie ‘The cleanest coffee in the world’.

Malou was immediately captured by his story, having a history with sailing boats through her dad. And then one day he proposed to pick up Wild Child Cacao beans from the Dominican Republic as well. How could we say no to that?!

And so, very very soon, Malou will join the crew of the cargo sailboat Ide Min to crossover the ocean and load our cacao on the ship from the Dominican Republic.

Malou Dronkers: ‘This is something I have always wanted to do because of the world travel stories of my father, mother and brother who did this together before I was born. Well, it won’t be a trip around the world for me, but it will certainly be a large ocean crossing! And also a number of stops (Suriname, Grenada and Colombia) before we arrive at our cacao destination: the Dominican Republic. A really great adventure. The Ide Min (the sailing ship) will leave Amsterdam North around November 20 and return in April 2024 with coffee, rum and our cacao.’
