Unloading cacao beans 2025

Our second year of 100% sailing our cacao beans, and this time with an unloading party!

On June 28th, a few days after the Ide Min arrived from her big ocean crossing, we made a little unloading party at the NDSM. A moment for everyone to be welcome on board, talk to the crew, get a glimpse of life at sea and to see the hand-work that goes into transporting our cacao beans by sail.

It was an amazingly lovely day. We had original Wild Childs passing by and climbing in the masts, but also curious bystanders were welcome on board.

We had lunch on deck and enjoyed affogato’s and bounty lovers all day.

A true welcoming of these precious beans into our homeland!

Job from Cine-creations made this amazing aftermovie for us.. check it out down here. And… thank you Job, for this unexpected present!

Next to Job moving around us with his camera and drone, we also had the street photographer Julie Hrudova walking and climbing around all day with her camera, capturing the vibes and images of everyone around.

Julie: “Beautiful and inspiring to see a part of Malou’s process through the arrival of the cacao beans, made possible only by pure (wo)manpower and the force of nature. It all fits so well with the Wild Child Cacao craftmanship and care for the original and final (oh so tasty!) product”

And secretly she also just enjoyed watching the very handsome half-naked sailors… 😀

We’ve added a collection of her pictures (including handsome sailors) of that day, check them out here!
